"Wabbits" is an interactive video installation for toy rabbits and a surveillance camera.
20 Toy rabbits where hacked and are now able to detect and participate in a chain reaction (dominos, perpetum mobila…) - once triggered they move, bump into each other and set more rabbits on the go.
The black rabbit carries a surveillance camera that projects its point of view at the back of the stage. The projected image is translated into a black and white pixeleted animation. The rabbits that where set into motion block and alter the black rabbits' route. Everytime it bumps into another rabbit the video stream stops abraptly to broadcast premaid video clips.
Visitors are caught in the "eye" of the black rabbit when it happens to be stirred their way.
One may think of "Wabbits" as a generator. All items within the system, including the visitors participate in the generation of content that portray the shifting situations within the system at all time.
