You are walking around holding your GPS enabled mobile. It will help you locate the path you've scribbled on Google map. Once in the vicinity of the path your mobile screen will show a two legged twig. Dowsers* use it as a sign to locate underground deposits of hidden substances and water. When walking on the path the twig vibrates. While deviating from the path it fades. When you stumble upon a node you are asked to claim the path by MMsing a snapshot that documents the mark you have placed to own the path.
Any Path you have created on google map by using the 'Scriberou' Mapplet start fading upon creation unless you validate them by MMsing a snapshot from the vicinity of the path.
The 'Scriberou' Mapplet will be open to everyone. Later on I'll be using 'Scriberou' to create my own site specific paths where visitors will be invited to experience geographically distributed original content and add their own in response.
I will develop the mobile 'Scriberou' application in two phases:
First you will download the content of your own path and validate it by uploading a site specific snapshot from any node on your path. Later on, you’ll be able to locate nodes by their order of creation and insert content from the web onto a geographic path. In later versions you’ll be able to see any path in your vicinity, not just your own.
* Dowsing -
(a.k.a. water witching)
(a.k.a. water witching)
The dowser tries to locate hidden objects by occult means. Dowsing is usually performed using a forked twig. With one end in each hand and the third end pointing out, a dowser walks forward and the pointer is supposed to lead towards underground water, vibrating to indicate the found.
Dowsing is an ancient practice, originated well before artifacts related to Dowsing are found in the time of the Egyptian Pharaohs and the Chinese Emperor Kwang Sung.
